I’m so happy to share with you one of my all-time favorite Hawaii Family Sessions from earlier this year. It’s one of my favorites, really, for several reasons. First, Megan and Mike are such a strong and supportive couple of each other. Sometimes work may pull them apart for long periods of time but they never lose sight of their relationship and family time. This was my third session with them and I am so happy to have watched their family grow over the years. I first met The Wall’s when Megan asked me to photograph their oldest Odin’s first birthday milestone photos. Then Megan’s maternity photos for their second boy Augustus. And lastly this family session. I think this may be the most important of all, not just because it includes both of the boys but because of their family dog Finn. Finn was always included in their photos and was hands down the most well trained, best friend, big brother, playmate and snuggle buddy this family could ever be gifted. Shortly after our session Finn fell ill and is now playing endless amounts of fetch in doggy heaven. As a dog mother myself I know how important these last family portraits are to Megan and her family. I am so glad he was included and I hope these images will help memorialize the memory of him for the boys.
We chose to shoot at Chinaman’s hat for several reasons, we loved the Ko’olaus in the background, the green park, and the adjacent beach. It’s a perfect setting for family sessions since it offers a variety of unique scenery and safe play spaces for the kiddos.
Megan ~ I hope our paths cross again. Not only has been such an honor to photograph your family as it grows but to gain a friendship from it all is priceless. You better be soaking up the warm sun and dipping those toes in the water for me. 😉
